About glassfields.net

glassfields.net:— also known as the lamented heart network. This website is just a small blog website dedicated to thoughts of love, nostalgia, & the heart, among other thoughts and rambles and life lessons.

The inspiration from this blog began at the old woodnotes.org (a domain I used to own) — a place to “woodnote” facts and pieces of information, primarily for educational purposes and as a supplement for my university studies. The blog at Woodnotes became a messy mind-dump and a planning place for future personal and education projects, as well as to-do lists. After tumbleweeds rolled by and as I also began feeling guilty about wasted, albeit precious, posts at slowdawn.info, I felt that it was time for a new blog.

I opted for a domain with the extension I’d had my eyes on — that extension being .net. My prominent reason for choosing a domain with said extension is simple: not enough domains with the .net extension. Having owned Aquapheric.net and a few other .net domains which I let go of, I felt the need to even things out. (The .org extension is my favourite, however, I’ve been through enough of those.)

I’d had other ideas in mind for a name. These included feelthehearts.com, desireless.org, outworn.org, teargarden.net, willowing.net, slowdawn.org. None fit right, though feel the hearts had been undeniably close.

The name of this domain came from the song Glass Fields by Idiot Pilot. A song that I hold a little close to my heart, for it is beautiful.

I’ve got too many
Excuses to never love again —
Concrete acres and glass fields
We’re all trying to reach higher ground
Anywhere you turn, you’re heading back to shore

Who am I? I’m just Georgina — Georgie if you prefer. The one who owns the growing-old Heartdrops.org, and has a little collection of domains at Georgie.nu. I’m that 20-year-old girl residing in Australia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. I’ve been designing websites for most of eight years.

Somewhere between these posts, you’ll find that I mention many special people. I’ve got beautiful friends — my love & sweetheart, James; my ‘twin sister’, Lilian; my big ‘brother’, Sebastian; my shutterbug sweetiepie, Michael. ♥
