This thing called, you know, 5000 words. With rewards.

Saturday 12th May, 2012 - 12:13pm with 1 comment

Stupid assignment.

When I hit 1000 words, my reward is:

  • Blog. Oh man, dying to do this.
  • Plog. I really want to share my photos.

When I hit 1500, reward:

  • Update my 500px account.

When I hit 2000, reward:

  • Read a chapter or two of Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill.

When I hit 2500, reward:

  • Return some comments, I suppose.

When I hit 3500, reward:

  • This isn’t a reward, but clean my desk.

When I hit 4000, reward:

  • Do whatever you want for twenty minutes.

When I hit 5000, reward:

  • Paint nails. Haha hardihar.

Rain, yawning and all that

Wednesday 29th February, 2012 - 11:58pm with 0 comments

I need… I need to get a better bag. My current bag feels bottomless, and it’s hard to find things in there. I need a bag with more compartments.

Should I wear jeans tomorrow? I don’t know. If it rains, I might. I don’t know. Ew at Enterprise Computing.

I need to bring a folder to put my stuff in. That would make life easier, I think. :3

I’m organised, alright. Don’t anyone change that about me. /pow

Tomorrow night I’m sleeping early. I could have today, but I was being a bit pushy. o_O; But I’m saying this because Friday is a huge day with uni, and I’m seeing The Grates in the evening. What a Friday!

And so it begins.

Tuesday 7th February, 2012 - 11:21pm with 0 comments

I might be a bit on the ambitious side, but god forbid, if I manage to catch up on Futurama this weekend I will stop eating chocolate. Wait, that doesn’t make sense… but watching Futurama will stop me from eating chocolate.

Now, along with that, I haven’t spoken to Rachel in a while. Chances are we’ll be doing a lot of catching up and some code fun outside of work. I’m not getting distracted though, girl! I want to organise myself to the maximum this time. ;) Who knew what working almost-full-time could do?

I’d like to bring my attention to the photos falling off my wall and do something about them. That said, photos on my dresser probably need some replacing and my desk and dresser need a bit of a clean. A bit? Yes, I’d like to think so.

I’m probably going to make an effort to, well, you know, add some new music to iTunes, because there is no reason why I have albums ready to add that haven’t been added yet.

Now I’m a big believer in being organised, so I’m sure as hell going to make sure I write down every consolidating piece of work I’ve done since two months ago, just for Ruben. :P

I really want to finish a book this week, but case in point: I haven’t even started one. Fair go Georgie, fair go… looks like I may need to take a book on the train and I’ll be good. Still, I want to start an e-book but I don’t want any head explosions happening. One thing at a time right? I really need to get Futurama out of the way, at least.

One day I’ll want Futurama re-runs, I bet.

I still want to create a mobile theme. Hmmmmm. Hmmmmm.

Monday 23rd January, 2012 - 12:13pm with 0 comments

My new PC is named Kepler after Johannes Kepler. Woooo. He’s awesome. And incredibly distracting. I have customised him to absolute perfection… okay maybe not. But I spent until 2am moving all my files and stuff. I love him so much. :B XD

  • fold clothes, put clothes away
  • finish reading By The Light of the Moon
  • pay Lixin with PayPal
  • reply to Floriental.org emails
  • maintenance on Eyethief.com
  • clean the kitchen, do the dishes
  • return comments

Later

  • update Flickr (A Thousand Roses)
  • watch Futurama
  • start reading an e-book
  • trim and paint my nails
  • copy things from James’s external drive, and add things
  • print timetable, stick on wall
  • TFL trouble check (Songs: Various)
  • organise files in ‘Georgie’ folder

Tomorrow is Thursday, Thursday is ambitious

Wednesday 18th January, 2012 - 11:07pm with 0 comments

Well, since I’m getting a new computer on the weekend, something to add to my to-do list is the glorious task of backing up everything on my old computer and reinstalling Windows XP. My mum will be using that old computer.

Along with that, I need to clean my room; for James is coming over on Saturday and is going to help me set up my new baby.

I don’t know what his (his?) name will be, but shoot me if I call it something ridiculous like the Jorgenator. I will try and think of something completely practical this time, I swear.

Rachel and I need to process some Floriental applications.

I’m about to scrobble my iPod. Just so you know.

I really want to finish reading The Grenadillo Box. I’m a lovely 200 pages through, 200 pages to go.

Comments, comments, comments…! I really want to catch up on reading blogs, there are some I have yet to read.

If I have time, I really want to redesign Georgie.nu. No ideas though. Just a few pretty fonts. :P Now, something else that doesn’t need redesigning but needs an update… my portfolio. Definitely needs an update to include some newer pieces. Ahee.

I need to clear out my desk again. As well as my dresser. I should start putting things in bags and boxes; things that I’m not going to touch for a long time to come. I don’t know why it always ends up being this way.

That’s it for tomorrow. Oh, and work.

2012: Books

Saturday 7th January, 2012 - 4:24pm with 3 comments

I haven’t read many books in the past few years, what with being busy with school and other things. I am still in love with books and I’m as big of a bookworm as I was a while back – I just lack the time, and I guess you can say even though I’m a fast reader (I average about 100 pages in an hour, so yes, I could realistically finish the Harry Potter series in less than two days, but I’ve only read the first book), but I still have found other things to do with my time and such. I love reading. I’m going back to it.

I’ve decided that this year I will try and read 50 books. I was going to say one book a week; I was going to make it a smaller number, but I figured I would try 50. There have been years when I’ve read 200 books a year, and 50 averages to about one a week anyway. I might read two in a week and have periods of time where I don’t have time to read at all… so one book a week, strictly, is difficult.

Given my dull train rides, I could do with some reading. This, so far, is my list, and I will keep it updated. This won’t be a sticky post, but oh well. 0:)

  1. White Apples by Jonathan Carroll
  2. Somewhere, Home by Nada Awar Jarrar
  3. Start From Here by Sean French
  4. Notes from an Italian Garden by Joan Marble
  5. Radio Free Albemuth by Phillip K Dick
  6. The Grenadillo Box by Janet Gleeson
  7. By The Light of the Moon by Dean Koontz
  8. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  9. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
  10. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
  11. World War Z by Max Brooks
  12. Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill
  13. Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Upcoming:

  1. Anybody Out There? by Marian Keyes

A ridiculous to-do, just to stop me from playing with my hair

Tuesday 3rd January, 2012 - 8:11am with 0 comments

Buon giorno. :3

The deadline for this is today. No, I’m just kidding, I’d shoot myself. The end of the month would be nice. Tasks towards the top of the list are more important.

Internet

  2. Post photos from Jebediah’s show (last Thursday) to my photoblog.
  3. Clean out post tags on Heartdrops.org.
  4. Return comments on my current blog post.
  5. Blog!
  6. Move bowtiesarecool.org… sad to say goodbye… :(
  7. Renew Floriental.org and Indecisively.me.
  8. Add fanlisting codes that Jessica made.
  9. Quick fixes: add sub-navigation to some pages.
  10. Quick fixes: Add names to WordPress tutorials.
  11. Quick fixes: Add contact form to all fanlistings.
  12. Quick fixes: Fix up old WordPress themes.
  13. Are you ever going to catch up on Smosh?

Non-Internet

  1. Wake up my brother. He’s ridiculous and wakes at 3:00pm or thereabouts.
  2. Iron the rest of the jeans. Ew. In possible heat? No…
  3. Do the dishes.
  4. Please try to clean my desk.
  5. Listen to a new Magic Dirt album.
  6. Scrobble my iPod… this has not been done in a few weeks.
  7. Watch Futurama. Catch up on it.
  8. Watch the Doctor Who Christmas special.
  9. Read some books!
