How we were

The more I write on my novel (which I haven’t touched for about two weeks now), the more I want to name it How We Were or something along those lines. It’s a corny and horrid title, I know, but I feel like there isn’t quite another way to sum up the whole [unfinished] novel in a title. I’d happily name it The Colour of Your Eyes but I feel like that gives a fair bit away, not to mention it’s the name of a Ben Jorgensen song and I don’t quite want to rip anyone off.

It’s such a funny thing how titles can really sum up a book. The Catcher in the Rye, who knew? A Clockwork Orange – funny that.

TwilightLOL.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy – wahoo!

I like having a working title for a lot of things. When I write my poems I just write them, and pull out a title. It’s so much easier for me to find titles for poems, perhaps because they are generally short pieces of work. A novel is a longer body of work… and I guess to sum up so many events and happenings, emotions and words into something that isn’t even a sentence – is a difficult job.

Most titles are mystery. I like that.

That’s not a bad title, I mean, I’ve read titles like that before, but I feel like it gives it a sense of intrigue, almost a sense of longing. Sometimes titles also help attract a certain reader too, just by how they sound and what kind of genre the title brings to mind, so perhaps think of that too?

Your novel sounds sweet :) I’d love a synopsis.
